Alice in a wonderland

Alice was looking at her reflection in the mirror and thought it was time to go to bed. She looked tired. She felt it, too.
So, after putting on her shift, she walked towards the windows to open the curtains. She liked watching the moon until her eyes would close. The lights were finally out, the cat was waving her tail on the carpet and only the crickets were plying a song. All her room smelled like cherry and cinnamon, from the cake she ate. Alice helped her mother bake it that day. Everything was the same as yesterday.
Finally, the fluffy white pillow was under her dark hair. One step away from a nice dream.
The crickets seemed to play somewhere far away, cause she couldn't keep her eyes open any more. Quiet; an almost touchable one.
But she heard something. Her glass of water, seemed to have moved. Of course, that would be impossible, Alice thought. Because she was all alone. Alice closed her eyes again. But sure thing, the water was shaking. So she decided to look closely at that glass. Safely tucked under her blanket, her big eyes were now full opened. What could have made it move?
Alice soon got scared, when she saw her entire night table move. But not by it self; like somebody was pushing it. The child jumped out of the bed, stepping on little Muffy, her cat. Her hairy pet run out the opened window, but Alice could only focus on her table. How could it be pushed, when it was on the wall? And no room was on the other side. She was really frightened.
Suddenly, the whole night table was hard pushed, almost in the middle of the room. A short whine came from Alice's throat. She didn't know about other girl's tables, but hers not once did this before! So she was curious and scared at the same time to check it out.
Behind the place where the table should have been, a dark spot remained. At least, it look like a spot. But getting closer, she saw that it was actually a hole. A dark deep hole. Leading to what?
On her knees, she crawled to the new door in her room. She could only hear her breath. Her breath and quiet.
Suddenly, a hand reached out and grabbed her. She couldn't even scream.

She fell down (or up?) for a long time. Didn't know what to expect. And where could she fall? The house wasn't that big. And the hand? Where did it popped out? Was it a woman or a man's hand? Was she dreaming? And again, was she falling down or up? Because her shift was not on her head, like it was supposed to, when falling, but almost teared apart. It was like she got an engine in her feet and now she was lunching herself in the sky. Everything was wrong. All these things she thought about. Like I said, she was falling for a long time.
Finally, she dropped on a cushion. The biggest she ever saw! It was as big as the room.
Nothing Alice saw in that room, looked closely to what she was used to. A room with no windows, no doors or a switch to turn on the lights. But there was enough air to cool her pink flesh and at the same time, warmth with no fire. And there was light; couldn't tell where from.
"Hello", she said. But no answer. "Where am I? I want to go home. Please, somebody say something. Hello?". But still, no answer. Looked like she was indeed alone.
But why would anyone get into so much bother just to put her in a room with no windows? And where was that hand?
"Are you looking for me?", a soft voice asked.
"What? No, I am not! I wasn't looking for nobody in particular when I felt here. I just want to go home."
"You are home, Alice. In your bed."
"So, am I dreaming?"
"You can call it however you want to. The main thing is that you are here. Well, aren't you happy?"
"I just fell for a long time. How could I be happy?"
"You were looking for me", said the voice.
"I don't even know who am I talking to. Who are you?", Alice asked and tried to find out who was that moving shape hiding in the dark.
Suddenly, the voice stopped. No movement. No nothing.
Alice boosted in front of the still shape. Once in front of it, the shadow quickly copied every move Alice made. It was like she was looking in the mirror. The shape did whatever crazy thing Alice did. But when she reached to touch the fingers, the shadow reacted. Now, Alice was doing whatever the shadow wanted.
Their fingers touched, because the shadow wanted and not the other way around. Alice, soon found out she couldn't move no more. She looked just like a puppet: with her head on a side, and her hands up, like trying to dance. Only her eyes could move.
She could feel small beads of cold sweat on her back. Alice was in panic.
The shadow was still a shadow, no matter where it rippled. On Alice's back, with it's hands underneath the shift. Alice couldn't help her body react to all those touches. Though it was the first time she felt them, it was like she somehow expected them. With every new inch of her skin touched by her shadow, Alice felt safer and more familiar.
She closed her eyes and just sucked in the experience. Not even realizing that she could now move, Alice's head and heart was filling. Like a rush; a high, high rush. Too much at once. She could almost feel her blood and her flesh underneath the skin. New memories, old feelings, watery fire... Nothing made sense no more. Alice didn't care.
When she opened her eyes, Alice had in front of her, the shadow. Out of the dark. Alice was standing in front of Alice.
They touched each others faces and smiled. Smiled like two old friends reunited: the new one and the old one.
"I heard you were looking for me."
"And now I found you."
Alice gave Alice her first kiss. But in the same time, it was just her latest. Curious and deep. Like a good kiss suppose to be.

Alice woke up in her bed. Get out of it and went for the mirror. Stood there for a while, on her chair. She looked different, had a new look on her face. And a smile. The smile. In the corner of her mouth, a little grin.
She was now the one she was looking for, after all. She found herself. Powerful and fearless.
